There are many ways to be involved in data collection as a civic scientist. The Forest Service has an online suite of free tools, called iTree, for assessing the value and benefits of trees in your neighborhood. These tools are based on research from Forest Service scientists and are designed to be used by anyone: kids, adults, scientists, land managers, community organizers, and community members. Learn more about iTree in this spotlight.
Also learn more about the GLOBE Observer app, another civic science tool created in partnership with NASA.
