Alternate FACTivity – All Over the Map

The questions you will answer in this FACTivity are: How does the seismic data compare between different States? What is the seismic activity like in your State? What does the National Earthquake Hazard Map for your chosen year tell you about the seismic hazard in your State?

Materials:

Computer and internet access
Two maps chosen from the USGS Earthquake Hazards Program catalog (recommended: one map from the east coast and one from the west coast of the United States)
A National Earthquake Hazard Map for your chosen year (same website as above)
