resilient
(ri zil yənt): The quality of being able to recover from or adjust easily to change.

(re zǝn): Any of various yellowish or brownish substances that are obtained from the gum or sap of some trees (like pines) and are used in varnishes and plastics and in medicine.

(ri zis tǝn(t)s): The ability to withstand the force or effect of something (like a disease).

(rē sȯrs): A usable stock or supply (as of money, products, or energy).

(re spə rā shən): The physical processes (as breathing and diffusion) by which a living thing obtains the oxygen it needs to produce energy and eliminate waste gases (as carbon dioxide).

(ri fəl): A shallow extending across a stream bed and causing broken water.
riparian
(rə per ē ən): Relating to or living or located on the bank of a natural watercourse (such as a river or sometimes a lake or tidewater).
river basin
(ri vər bā sən): The land area drained by a river and its tributaries.
rodent
(rō dǝnt): Any of an order of fairly small mammals (like mice, squirrels, or beavers) that have sharp front teeth used for gnawing.
roost
(rüst): To settle down for rest or sleep.
route
(rau̇t): An established, selected, or assigned course of travel.
rugged
(rəg əd): Having a rough, uneven surface.
