geneticist
(jǝ ne ti sist): A scientist who studies genetics, which is the science of genes, heredity, and variation of organisms.

((jǝ nō mik tül): A tool used in a branch of biotechnology concerned with the genetic mapping and DNA sequencing of sets of genes or the total genetic make-up of a cell or organism.

(jǝ nō miks): A branch of biotechnology concerned with genetics.

A class, kind, or group marked by common characteristics or by one common characteristic, specifically a category of biological classification ranking between the family and the species.

(jē ō ke mi kəl): Having to do with the chemical composition of and chemical changes in the solid matter of the Earth or a celestial body (such as the Moon).

(jē ǝ gra fik): Of or relating to the natural parts of an area.

(jē ə gra fik rānj): The region throughout which a kind of organism or ecological community naturally lives or occurs.

Global Positioning System (GPS)
(glō bəl pə zi sh(ə-)niŋ si stəm): A navigation system that uses satellite signals to find the location of a radio receiver on or above the Earth's surface.
global warming
(glō bǝl wȯrm iŋ): A warming of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans that is predicted to result from an increase in the greenhouse effect caused by air pollution.
globalization
(glō bə lə zā shən): The act or process or state of making worldwide in scope or application; especially, the development of an increasingly integrated global economy marked especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of cheaper foreign labor markets.
glucose
(glü kōs): A sugar that occurs especially in a naturally occurring form that is found in plants, fruits, and blood and is a source of energy for living things.
