(e thi kǝl): Following professional or accepted standards of conduct.

(eth nik): Of or relating to groups of people with common traits and customs and a sense of shared identity.

ethnicity

(eth ni sə tē): Quality or connection describing a group of people who have the same language, background, culture, etc.

evade

(i vād or ē vād): To slip away or avoid capture.

evaluate

(i val yə wāt): To decide the value or worth of after study.

evaporate

(i va p(ə-) rāt): To give off moisture.

evaporation

(i va p(ə-) shən): The process of converting water into vapor or fumes.

evapotranspiration

(i vatran spə rā shən): Loss of water from Earth by evaporation from Earth’s surface and by transpiration from the leaves of plants.

evident

(ev ə dent): Clear to the sight or the mind.

evolutionary

(e shən er ē): Of, relating to, or produced by evolution. Evolution is the process of continuous change from a lower, simpler, or worse state to a higher, more complex, or better state.

(i välv or ē välv): To change during a process by which new species or populations of living things develop from preexisting forms through successive generations.

excessive

(ik se siv): Going beyond what is usual, proper, necessary, or normal.

(ig tik): Strange, different, or foreign.
