coincide

(kō ən sīd): To occupy the same place in space or time.

cold-blooded

(kōld bləd əd): Having a body temperature not regulated by the body and close to that of the environment.

collaboration

(kǝ la bǝ shǝn): The act of working together.

collaborative

Characteristically working jointly with others or together.

colleague

( lēg): A fellow worker or professional.

( lǝ nīz): To multiply in or on a host or an inanimate object or surface.

combustible

(kǝm stǝ bǝl): Capable of being burned; catching fire or burning easily.

Common Era

(-mən er ə): The system for recording dates used almost everywhere around the world today. CE is an alternative to the AD system used by Christians, but the numbers are the same.

communal

(kə myü nəl): Participated in, shared, or used in common by members of a group or community.

communities of practice

(kə myü nə tēs əv prak təs): Groups of people who share a concern or a passion for something they do and learn how to do it better as they work together. (Term coined and defined by Etienne Wenger and Jean Lave in 1991)

community

(kә myü nә tē): The people living in an area; also the area itself.

(kә myü nә tē): A group of people who live together in the same place; also the place itself.

compact

(käm pakt): To pack closely and firmly together.

compacted

(kǝm pak tǝd): Having a dense structure or parts or units closely packed or joined.

complex

(käm pleks): Having many parts, details, ideas, or functions often related in a complicated way.

complexity

(kǝm plek sǝ tē): Something that is complex, or hard to separate, analyze, or solve.

component

(kǝm nǝnt): A part or element of something; an ingredient.

composition

(käm pǝ zi shǝn): The manner in which the parts of a thing are put together.

compound

(käm pau̇nd): A distinct substance formed by the union of two or more chemical elements in definite proportion by weight.
