As a science delivery specialist, I translate science into terms that non-scientists can understand. I help scientists communicate with other natural resource professionals, students, and the general public.

What is the best way to deliver information for a diverse audience?
Important tools I use include a computer, website and social media applications, like Twitter and YouTube.
My most exciting discovery was that science can play a very important role in people’s lives if the information can reach them. That discovery led to my life pursuit of connecting scientific information with people who can use it.
My father was a middle school science teacher and later an elementary school teacher, which likely had a big influence on my choice to study natural resource issues. We would often take family camping trips along California’s central coast where I grew up. My father would always point out things about the natural world to myself and my two brothers whether we wanted to hear about it or not!
