The Natural Inquirer program is supported by a partnership between the Forest Service and FIND Outdoors. FIND Outdoors’ goal is Forest-Inspired Nature Discovery, and, to that end, they run educational programs at several recreational sites in the southeastern U.S. Here are some highlights:
Explorers Club/Club de Exploradores
Explorers Club is a free outdoor education program for students in 5th and 6th grade in western North Carolina. At their monthly meetings in the summer and fall, members get a chance to experience kayaking, fly fishing, hiking, rock climbing, and camping to name a few. While there, kids learn about the Leave No Trace principles for responsible outdoor recreation. The program aims to welcome everyone to outdoor recreation.
