wildfire

(wī(ǝ)ld fī(ǝ)r): An uncontrolled, damaging fire started in a wilderness or rural area.

(wīld fī ǝr): An uncontrolled outdoor fire; an outdoor fire that is unwanted.

wildland

(wī(ǝ)l(d) land): An area in which few or no people live that is not used for farming and is more or less in its natural state.

wildland fire

(wī(-ə)l(d) land (-e)r): A fire that occurs in an area of land that is uncultivated or undeveloped by humans.

wildlife

(wī(e)l(d) līf): Living things and especially mammals, birds, and fishes that are neither human nor domesticated.

wildlife manager

(wi(uld) lif ma ni jür): Skilled individual who manages natural resources for wildlife.

woody

(wu̇ dē): Having woody parts, meaning rich in xylem and associated structures.
